Joshua choi | cello

Joshua is a senior attending Homestead High School. Studying under Katie Youn, Josh played with the Golden State Youth Orchestra for 6 years. He also placed first in the American Protege International Music Talent Competition and second in the US International Open Music Competition and Enkor International Music Competition. At Homestead, Josh serves as the Secretary of the Associated Student Body, as well as the President of the Biology and Culinary Science Clubs. He also likes serving his community through volunteering at the Academy of Music and Arts for Special Education and leading the Cupertino Teen Advisory Council. Outside of academics, he enjoys playing basketball and doing photography.
channie hong | cello

Channie is a senior attending Saratoga High School. He has been playing cello since he was 9 and is currently studying with Jonathan Koh. He is studying in the California Music Preparatory Academy and is part of Saratoga High's Saratoga Strings and Symphonic Orchestra. He has attended CASMEC's All State Orchestra all three years of high school and has won several prizes with his instrument including first place in the Silicon Valley Music Competition and second place in the Glory International Music Competition. In his spare time, he enjoys competitive swimming and writing.
Sophia Kim | Violin & Piano

Sophia Kim is a senior at Cupertino High School. She has been playing the violin for eight years and the piano for eleven years. She has participated in the California All-State Orchestras as a violinist from 2020-2022 and is a member of her school's marching band as a synthesizer player. Outside of music, Sophia enjoys playing video games and drawing.
Suzy Kim | Flute

Suzy is a senior at Leigh High School and has been playing the flute for eight years. She has been a member of her school's band since fifth grade and since participated in her school's Wind Ensemble, church Youth Chamber and SKY Ensemble. She also won the CMEA (California Music Educators Association) Command Performance/Gold Award in 2019 and 2020. Suzy is also interested in art and has won numerous awards in art competitions such as the Santa Clara County Young Artist Showcase, the Congressional Art Competition, Scholastic Art and Writing, and her school's Art Shows. Additionally, she exhibits her artwork in downtown San Jose.
DYNE LEE | Clarinet

Dyne is a senior at Saratoga High School and has been playing the clarinet for eight years. At school, she is part of the marching band, symphonic wind ensemble, and symphony orchestra. She was part of the California All-State Bands from 2019 to 2022 and the Santa Clara County Honor Band from 2020 to 2022. She has received first place awards from the Silicon Valley Music Competition, the KAMSA Competition, and the American Fine Arts Festival. She has also played in the KAMSA orchestra, MUSE ensemble, and a clarinet quartet. Outside of music, Dyne enjoys reading and hanging out with friends.
Matthew Lee | clarinet

Matthew is a Senior at Gunn High School, and has been playing the clarinet since 5th grade. For the past three years, he has participated in the California All-State Honor Band. He was also a part of the Santa Clara County Honor Band. He received first place in both the U.S International Open Music Competition and the Music Legacy Open Competition. He also received an award at the U.S. Open Music Competition. Matthew is a volunteer at AMASE and KAMSA as well. In addition to music, he has a passion for sailing and is a member of the Gunn Sailing Varsity Team. In his free time, Matthew enjoys hanging out with friends or playing sports.
sean lee | viola & Piano

Sean Lee is a senior at Archbishop Mitty High School. He has been playing piano for 13 years and viola for 5 years. Sean has competed and won various competitions; as a pianist in Korea Times, USOMC and as a violist in USIMC, KAMSA competitions. He is also a member of KAMSA, HCYO, and Sky Ensemble. He is currently playing piano in his school’s jazz band. Sean participated in 2020, 2021, and 2022 CASMEC All-State Orchestra as a violist and was the winner of the 2019 CPYO concerto competition, along with winning numerous prizes as a part of multiple ensembles. In his free time, he likes hanging out with friends and playing games.
serin Myung | Violin & Piano

Serin Myung is a senior attending Leigh High School. She has been playing violin since the age of 6 and piano since the age of 5. She has won awards from various competitions such as the Silicon Valley Youth Competition (2017, 2018), Annual Youth Music Competition (violin), United States Open Music Competition (piano), Music Legacy Open Competition (2020), Junior Bach Festival (2020), and American Protege (2020). She has also attended Hopebox and Korean American Music Supporters Association. Besides music, Serin enjoys baking and art as well as hanging out with her friends.
