Jiho kim | viola

Jiho will be a junior at Saratoga High School this fall. She has been playing the viola since 4th grade under the guidance of Mrs. Yunsun Kim. Jiho was part of the 2023 All-State HS String Orchestra this past spring, is a member of the Saratoga Strings Orchestra, 2023 CYS SO, and 2023 KAMSA, and she also won 3rd place in the 2023 Silicon Valley Music Competition(Viola High). In her free time, she enjoys listening to music and watching movies.

ian kim | Double bass

Ian Kim, age 17, is a senior at Saratoga High School. He has been actively playing the double bass for 8 years and studies under the guidance of Bruce Moyer. Ian is currently the principal bass player of the Saratoga High School Symphony Orchestra and Saratoga Strings. Besides from school, he participates in numerous ensembles and orchestras such as the California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, KAMSA orchestra, and more, all of which he has also earned the principal position in. As a freshman, Ian was able to achieve the title of principal player for the California All State Symphony High School Orchestra and has won the Saratoga High School Concerto Competition. Additionally, he was able to participate in NYO2 where he also earned the principal position and has also received numerous masterclasses and lessons from people including Minje Sung, Mikyung Sung, Kristen Bruya, and Timothy Pitts. In his free time, Ian enjoys watching movies and playing volleyball with his friends.

brandon lee | flute

Brandon Lee is an eleventh grader at Lynbrook High School. He has been playing the flute under Minhee Kim for almost five years and additionally, he has also previously played the piano for over six years before starting the flute. Brandon has also been in the school band since sixth grade. His band has received a Superior rating twice in the CMEA festival. Outside of playing the flute, he enjoys swimming, listening to music, and playing video games.

Theodore Tak | Cello

Theodore Tak, 16, who attends Leland High School as a sophomore,is a cellist who currently studies with Jonathan Koh. He started learning the piano at the age of 6 and has been playing the cello since he was 8 years old. Theodore was the winner of the New York International Classical Music Competition, King's Peak International Music Competition, American Protégés International Competition of Romantic Music, United States International Music Competition, Great Composer Competition, KAMSA Music Competition, Korea Times Youth Music Competition, Silicon Valley Youth Music Competition and Golden State Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition. Currently he is training in the the California Music Preparatory Academy. When not pursuing music, he enjoys playing golf and traveling to explore and learn about new cultures.
